Committees

McKenzie County Right to Life hosts multiple events and newsletters throughout the year. Below is a brief description of our various committees we utilize to plan these events.

Annual Auction

This committee is responsible for scheduling, organizing, and executing the annual auction on the first Thursday of November at the Watford City Civic Center. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Booking the venue
• Booking the auctioneers
• Soliciting donations
• Advertising/Marketing of the event
• Planning/providing the family meal
• Recruiting volunteers for set-up, event, and clean-up
• Providing youth friendly activities in gym

Annual Speech Competition

This committee is responsible for the scheduling, organizing, and executing the annual speech competition every Spring. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Booking the venue
• Marketing/Advertising/Recruiting speech competitors
• Recruiting financial sponsors to help underwrite the cost of the event
• Recruiting volunteers for the event: judges, timers, set-up, clean-up, etc
• Plan and provide meals and refreshment
• Swag bags for participants

Annual/Bi-Annual Gala

This committee is responsible for scheduling, organizing, and executing the gala every other year in Q1. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Establishing theme
• Securing venue
• Securing Speaker
• Securing Event Underwriters to offset cost
• Ticket sales
• Marketing/Advertising
• Photography
• Recruit volunteers to work the event

Quarterly Education/Fellowship Events – Adults

This committee is responsible for scheduling, organizing, and executing the education/fellowship event every quarter based on the strategic plan. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Establish and book venues if necessary
• Coordinate with education/topic providers on time, place, travel, Zoom, etc
• Marketing/Advertising of events

Quarterly Education/Fellowship Events – Youth

This committee is responsible for scheduling, organizing, and executing the education/fellowship event every quarter based on the strategic plan. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Establish and book venues if necessary
• Coordinate with education/topic providers on time, place, travel, Zoom, etc
• Marketing/Advertising of events
• Arranging parent permission
• Arranging for transportation if necessary

Bi-Annual Newsletter/Membership Spotlights

This committee is responsible for creating, publishing, and circulating a newsletter in January and July of every year and creating, publishing, and circulating the 6 Member Spotlights per year. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Creating the standard format of the newsletter
• Creating content for the newsletter
• Publishing & circulating the newsletter on Jan 1 & July 1 after board approval
• Creating standard format for the membership spotlight
• Selecting member or business to spotlight in each edition
• Publishing and circulating the member spotlight after Board approval
